About the event

FROM OUT OF THE ASHES:  A workshop for kids on grit, resilience and growing from adversity

The American Psychological Association states that “grit is what separates the very best from those who are simply good enough”. In this 2-hour workshop, kids will learn about grit, resilience and the benefits of growing from adversity. The legend of the Phoenix will be discussed along with other stories of those who have overcome great obstacles and persevered.

Perhaps the most important of character strengths, the combination of grit and resilience along with other important character strengths such as self-control, optimism, and ambition are reliable predictors of success. Unlike intelligence and IQ, which is more or less fixed, grit and resilience can be developed. The importance of a growth mindset, hard work, and how failure is an important part of learning and development will also be covered.

Designed for children 8-12 years old Max 8 participants $65/participant

Workshops held in a private home in Lakeway, TX.
