About the event

From holiday feasts to backyard BBQs, this 3-hour course for young people ages 8-14 is designed to help guide young people on how to graciously navigate various dining situations with confidence.

With less emphasis on outdated rules and more emphasis on mealtimes as a means to build community, Breaking Bread aims to curb impulsiveness while encouraging willpower and self-restraint, key skills known to impact the success of one’s life.

Dining etiquette is an extension of respect for ourselves and others. Good dining etiquette brings friends and families closer together, building community and valuable social capital. Table manners and dining etiquette will be covered, including table settings, utensil usage, food handling, and gracious guest guidelines. At the end of the workshop, students will have the opportunity to “break bread” together over a 4-course meal and practice their new skills over a delicious meal.

Open to members of the Cimarron Hills Golf and Country Club and their families.
